Everyone has a story, and I am no different. Graduating from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa with a Masters degree in Educational Psychology, I interned at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG). During my internship at OWLAG, I worked closely with teenage girls requiring emotional, social and academic support. Additionally, I was involved in numerous group therapies, developing experience with formulating and practicing CBT therapy, individual psychotherapy and various support groups. After my time at OWLAG I moved to HeronBridge College as the School Psychologist, Head of Learning Support and Co-ordinator of the Learning Centre. Working in a multidisciplinary team – which consisted of parents, teachers, learning support specialists, speech and occupational therapists – enriched my experience and ignited my passion for working collaboratively with all significant role players in a child’s life.

I subsequently followed my dream of opening up my own therapy and assessment centre in 2006 servicing all children and working closely with parents and teachers. I am passionate about psychology, education and children. I enjoy the challenge of identifying learning difficulties across all ages. I believe that early diagnosis and interventions lead to greatly enhanced outcomes for students who experience barriers to learning.

I attend regular courses to expanded my knowledge and learn new skills and techniques to empower individual to rise above their scholastic, emotional and social barriers. I have a special interest working with children, adolescents and young adults and also provide parental guidance and support for families.

It is my belief that each client is unique and thus utilise an integrative approach. This means that I do not subscribe to only one psychotherapeutic school of thought, but rather use an integration of different approaches so as to ensure a goodness of fit between my client’s needs and the chosen therapeutic approach. I am also a trained profilogist and passionate about establishing a client’s brain profile to guide and facilitate the most appropriate and effective interventions
In August 2017 my family and I embarked on our biggest journey yet and immigrated to Melbourne, Australia. After completing my transition programme, as an international psychologist and successfully passing the National Psychology Exam I was able to register as a General Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and obtained my provider number.

It is here where my exciting journey continues as the founder of Mind & Me.
